Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder characterised by recurrent episodes of binge eating, followed by compensatory behaviours such as self-induced vomiting, excessive exercise, or the use of laxatives or diuretics. Individuals with bulimia often have a distorted body image and intense fear of gaining weight. It can have serious physical and psychological consequences, including electrolyte imbalances,  gastrointestinal issues, and depression. Treatment typically involves a combination of therapy, nutritional counselling.
